The Election Commission of Pakistan has notified names of district returning officers (DROs), Returning officers (ROs) and assistant returning officers (ARO) for supervising the forthcoming local body elections in the Rawalpindi district.
According to the notification, Javed Afridi, director, election commission, has been appointed DRO.
Besides, the commission has appointed 33 ROs, and 66 AROs belonging to district government and departments of local government and education. None of them are from judiciary.
Assistant Commissioner, Saddar, Tasneem Ali Khan has been appointed RO for holding polls in union councils (UCs) one to eight; Mir Muhammad Akmal for UCs nine to 16, Khalid Javed Goraya for UCs 17 to 24, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha for UCs 25 to 32 Imran Shams for UCs 33 to 40, Mumtaz Tabassum for UCs 41 to 46.
Tariq Farooq has been appointed RO for Murree Municipal Corporation’s eight UCs. Meher Ansar Hayat has for Kotli Sattian’s 14 wards. TMO Haji Muhammad Siddique for Kahuta’s 14 wards; AC Rabnawaz Minhas for Kallar Syedan Municipal Committee’s 23 wards, AC Nazia Parveen Sudhan for conducting polls in 19 wards of Gujar Khan Municipal Committee, Shahid Imran Marth for Taxila Municipal Committee’s 22 wards, Murree’s TMO Inaamur Rahim has been appointed RO to supervise polls in Rawalpindi District’s UCs 1 to 6, Kotli Sattian’s TMO Makhdoom Bilal to conduct polls in UCs 7 to 12, Rana Javed for UCs 13 to 18, Muhammad Iqbal for UCs 19 to 23, Khalid Khan for UCs 24 to 28, Headmaster Hassan Mehmood RO for UCs 29 to 33, Sheraz Aslam RO for UCs 34 to 40, Suhail Aslam for UCs 41 to 48, Salman Lashari for UCs 49 to 55, Shahinshah Babar for UCs 56 to 63, Mukhtar Hussain for UCs 64 to 69, Sardar Tashfeen Nawaz for UCs 70 to 77, Kamran Khan for UCs 78 to 85, Shehzad Nasir Gondal for UCs 86 to 93, Muhammad Ejaz for UCs 94 to 100, Malik Tauseef for UCs 101 to 106, Headmaster Abdul Qayyum Qasuri for UCs 107 to 112, Qamar Zeeshan for UCs 113 to 120. Two assistant returning officers have been appointed with each RO.
