Hygiene check: Two restaurants, as many bakeries sealed

The district administration on Saturday sealed two restaurants and two bakeries and imposed fines for not meeting the hygiene standards. 


Attock Assistant Commissioner (AC) Syed Nazarat Ali sealed Al-Habib Restaurant and Taj Mahal Hotel for unhygienic conditions and substandard food. The AC also imposed a fines of Rs50,000 each on the two outlets.

Ali also visited two bakeries, Al-Bilal Bakers and Standard Bakers, and found them lacking in hygiene. Both were sealed and a fine of Rs30,000 and Rs50,000 was imposed on the two outlets respectively.

The administration also conducted raids at eateries and bakeries in Hassanabdal, where Assistant Commissioner Syeda Ramla Ali imposed a fine of Rs35,000 on Yum Bakers and Rs15,000 on Broadway Bakers.

She said consumers had complained about the two outlets.

The raids were a part of the larger food hygiene check drive being carried out by the Punjab government across the province.
