Prohibition hearing: Case against Odho pushed to Sept 12

The hearing for a liquor recovery case against film actress and television star Atiqa Odho has been adjourned till September 12.


Civil Judge Khalid Bashir has ordered for witnesses to be produced at the next court date.


The actress has been excused from appearing in person before the court.


Odho, a former member of Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League, was detained at the Islamabad airport by customs and security officials on June 5, 2011, after two bottles of liquor were recovered from her luggage.


The actress was booked on June 6, 2011 under Article 4 of the Prohibition Hadd Order 1979. She was arrested by Airport police officials after former Supreme Court chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry took a suo motu notice.


Meanwhile, a special anti-terrorism court adjourned hearing of Imambargah Shaheedan-e-Karbala and Imambarga Col Maqbool Hussain attack case till September 17.
