He gave a number of hit songs and has left a legacy to be remembered by. The last film he composed songs for -- John Abraham and Anil Kapoor-starrer Welcome Back -- released yesterday (Friday).

He had collaborated with international singers like Akon, Julia Fordham and Wyclef Jean. He had launched an India-wide talent search with Akon, a website which uses music analysis technology to predict hit potential of new songs. Other international artists he had collaborated with include Dominic Miller, Shakira, and T-Pain.
As the news of his illness surfaced in the media, members of the film fraternity like Lata Mangeshkar and AR Rahman expressed shock and hope for healthy recovery while others like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan met him at the hospital.
