Prosecution counsel contended that the poison that had led to Abeera’s death was purchased from Zeeshan

LAHORE: A Supreme Court bench on Friday dismissed bail application of a man held for the murder of model Abeera. Earlier, petitioner Hakeem Zeeshan’s counsel submitted that the police had wrongly implicated him in the case. He said Zeeshan had been on good terms with Abeera and Tooba, the main suspect. However, he said his client had no role in the crime. Prosecution counsel contended that the poison that had led to Abeera’s death was purchased from Zeeshan. He said a medical examination of a sample recovered from the suspect’s custody had matched the poison given to the deceased. After hearing arguments from both sides, the two member bench comprising Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary and Justice Umar Ata Bindial dismissed the bail application. The FIR had stated that Tooba poisoned Abeera after the latter refused to be a part of her plot to kill her former husband.
