Targeted: Two killed in Charsadda

CHARSADDA:

A constable was killed by unidentified persons near Rajar bypass while he was on his way to the police station on Friday morning.

“The deceased has been identified as Shah Walim,” said a police official. “An FIR of the case has been registered with the counter-terrorism department in Mardan.”

In a separate incident, an education department employee, Syed Zahoor Ali, was killed near Shakor Kali area. Hassan Khan, a police official, told The Express Tribune an FIR has been registered on the complaint of Mehdi Ali. According to Ali, he and his uncle, Zahoor, were travelling to Tangi on a motorcycle when they were stopped by 12 people.

According to the official, the incident was triggered by a property dispute between the victim and the assailants. However, another official privy to the matter said Zahoor’s death is yet another incident of sectarian violence.
