Providing cover: Minorities’ protection law to be passed soon

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi said the government will pass a proposed draft for the protection of non-Muslims’ rights.


The minister was talking to a delegation of South Asia Partnership-Pakistan at his office on Friday.


He added a standing committee on the status of rights of minorities would also be constituted by the K-P Assembly.

According to Qureshi, the PTI government also plans to implement the employment quota for minorities. The deputy speaker added efforts were afoot to remove hate words from school curriculums.

The delegation included Nusrat Ara and other the organisation.

The minister told the delegation that his government will support the draft proposal submitted by the delegation to form a standing committee to safeguard the rights of minorities in the province.
