Power protest in Karachi

KARACHI: Violent protests broke out in Baloch Colony area of Karachi against excessive loadshedding on Tuesday.

People pelted stones and damaged numerous cars in the area. They also set tyres on fire and blocked the Expressway.

A large number of policemen were deployed in the area who brought the situation under control.

Sources said that the police first baton charged the protestors, then fired tear gas shells at the crowd.

An Express 24/7 cameraman was also injured in the protests.

MUHAMMAD UMAR | 14 years ago | Reply IN PHASE-II EXTN ., JAMI STAF LANE 3 ., THE LOAD SHEDDIDNG IS GOING ON FOR 3 HOURS AFTER EACH ONE HOUR AND EVEN AT NIGHT I GOES OFF AT 5 AM AND COME BACK AT 09 AM. IS THIS NOT A JOCK WITH THE PEOPLE ? WHAT KIND OF LOAD SHEDDING IS THIS?
