Employees of the federal public hospitals have threatened of a march towards D-chowk if their demands are un-met by September 8.
Joint Action Committee President Dr Sartaj Khan, at a press conference at Polyclinic, demanded the government to de-freeze the health allowance immediately or be ready for a lock down of hospitals and sit-in.
Doctors have already started a two to three hours ‘token strike’ in hospitals.
Khan said the decision was taken after the secretary finance refused to meet them.
A senior doctor at Polyclinic told The Express Tribune the previous government had started giving health risk allowance to hospital staff.
CADD secretary said the matter falls in the purview of the Finance Division.
