Golden jubilee: Nation stood united against enemy in ’65

Pervaiz Rasheed urged the media to educate children about the country’s history

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said on Monday that the whole nation was united in 1965 to defeat an enemy which was equipped with overwhelming resources.


The minister expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding preparations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Defence Day of September 6, 1965.


“We should never forget the contribution of poets, singers, artists, musicians and writers who injected enthusiasm among the ranks of soldiers and people of Pakistan,” the minister added.


He urged the media to educate children about the country’s history that how the forces rendered supreme and selfless sacrifices and the nation as a whole, stood to the occasion to defend the country.


He emphasized to renew the spirit of 1965, as the armed forces are still engaged in a war albeit against a hidden enemy.
