DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Livestock Department arrested two people late on Friday and seized 400 kilogrammes of unhygienic meat.

Officials said they had received a tip off that some people were slaughtering diseased animals near Kot Haibat. “Livestock officials and a police team reached the area and found unhygienic meat obtained from dead animals. Two dead sheep were also found. Police arrested Muhammad Ayaz and Farhat Abbas who were skinning the carcasses,” Dr Muhammad Munir, a Livestock official, said. The meat was later destroyed.
