MNCS: Special policy framework needed

This was the upshot of speeches delivered at the conference on the “Role of MNCs in Economic Development” at LCCI

LAHORE: Multinational companies (MNCs) play a fundamental role in economic uplift of any country bringing foreign investment, facilitating transfer of technology, creating employment opportunities for the locals and signalling the world that the country is a good destination for business. “A large number of MNCs are operating in Pakistan indicating that it is the best place for foreign investors.” This was the upshot of speeches delivered at the conference on the “Role of MNCs in Economic Development” at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The speakers were of the view that Pakistan should have a special policy framework to attract more MNCs. LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir said the objective of this conference was to highlight areas of mutual concern for local and foreign investors.
