QUETTA: At least eight militants from the outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA) – including their commander Chella Reesh – were killed in a gunfight with paramilitary troops in the troubled Sui area of Dera Bugti district on Wednesday. According to the spokesperson for Frontier Corps Balochistan, Khan Wassey, paramilitary troops conducted a search operation in Darinjan Nullah, Rustam Darbar and Gazi Nullah areas following intelligence information regarding the presence of suspected militants there. “At least eight militants were killed in an exchange of fire,” he said, adding that they recovered 5 SMGs and 2 IEDs from the hideouts of militants. “The militants were planning to use the arms and explosives on August 26, the death anniversary of late Nawab Akbar Bugti, to target security forces,” the FC spokesman said.
