Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority Faisalabad announced on Tuesday that it would launch a campaign against companies manufacturing substandard items. PSQCA Faisalabad Region Assistant Director Zakaullah said the idea was to create consumer consciousness and to promote a culture of emphasising good quality.
He said there were several registered corporations that adhered to strict quality standards but they faced daunting competition from unregistered companies that manufactured low-cost and low quality products. “The PSQCA will hit hard the manufacturers of substandard products in Faisalabad region”, he added. Zakaullah requested consumers to purchase high quality products that carried the PSQCA’s monogram. He said during the campaign, information regarding quality standards would be disseminated through the media. Lectures would also be organised to raise awareness.
