ISLAMABAD:

An exhibition of paintings by GN Kazi will go on display at Nomad Art Gallery at Saidpur Village on August 31.

The show titled ‘A Heritage Preserved’, a collection of exquisite architectural paintings will focus on
over 25 paintings that are serene and aesthetically pleasing, harmonious and tranquil.

Having chosen architecture as his point of interest, the artist shows the complexities as well as its simplicity side by side to compliment and highlight the other.

He chooses minimum colours and work in their tones, so that the attention of the viewer does not divert from the subject and tends to use earth tones and the various shades of the night sky as a reflection and depiction of his soil.

There are no boundaries as his subjects move from forts to palaces and Havelis, the architecture is inspired by the traditional Mughal period and shrines of saints and Sufis, said Nageen Hyat, director of the gallery.

Having a four-year diploma in fine arts from Karachi School of Arts, the artist served as instructor of fine arts at various educational institutes and centres. He has various solo and group shows at home and abroad to his credit.
