Muslim man stripped, beaten for accompanying Hindu woman in India

Videos of the incident went viral on news channels, after which police arrived at the scene

A group of armed men in India stripped a Muslim man, tied him to a pole and lashed him for over an hour in a crowded marketplace for allegedly making conversation with a Hindu woman.

Both, the Muslim man and Hindu woman lived in a communally polarised coastal town of Mangalore where such attacks have been quite common in the past.

After videos of the lashing went viral on news channels, police arrived at the scene and arrested 14 out of around 30 suspected Bajrand Dal Party activists who were reportedly taking turns to flog him for indulging in a conversation with a Hindu.

The young man however, while lodging a complaint, claimed that the woman is a salesgirl at a local accessories store in Mangalore, where he is the manager.

"She had asked me for a loan of Rs 2,000 and we were walking to an ATM when the armed man came with knives and started attacking us," the manager said.

Though the woman managed to escape, she too was slapped by the men when she came to her colleague's defence.

India today is not same as India of 1984 when innocent Sikhs were killed in mob violence in reaction to Khalistani terrorism, which was supported by external forces.

Killers of Sikhs are in jail. 30 odd Muslims have already been convicted in the Gujarat riots for burning down a train and starting the riots. Learn to google and read Indian news papers also.

We need to check growth of madrassas, bring uniform civil code, compulsory universal education, compulsory family control, etc etc if we want to solve such problems.

There will be a Khalistan as well, There will be a Naksal land as well, There will be a Tilangana too. And then I'll come and pay tribute at Indira Jee's samadhi. Make sure you tell your narrative about taking all Muslims to Pakistan to your Indian Muslims as well, like Owaisis and Madni. I'd love to hear their stance after showering of love from their fellow Indian.

Most Indian pop icons have light-damn-near-white skin. Several stars even promote skin-bleaching creams that promise to improve one's popularity and career success. Its atmosphere was first disturbed when conversion FACTORIES began to operate here... the locals resented it . But Indian media nd political and elites are so SECULAR minded that they let this conversion factor grow.. Eventually , the educational institutes brought in peopel fro mother parts of India as well... But, mangalore has been havign moral police since hte advent of big educationla insitutions..... This is more of a MORAL POLICING Issue rather than a communal.. Incidentally, the manager is a muslim man and sales girl is a hindu woman.. it would have been worse if it was otherwise...HE would have been DEAD by now...we are selectively making this a communal issue..

The problem I see is with our education system where the focus is only on job(money). Mangalore was such a peaceful city without any significant communal incidents until BJP came to power and the goons like Bajrang Dal became the heroes of the safronised society. The safronization has reached even the police ranks. Every time an incident like this happens, the media is present in advance but the police reach only the whole incident as planned by the perpetrators is completed successfully. I won't be surprised people like Mutalik and some of the big mouthed ministers in the current government get highest award of the land for their contribution in spreading hatred and discord in the community. It is time for RSS and BJP to do some introspection and ask themselves how nationalistic their actions are and do they have any role to play in building up the society and bringing about peace and harmony in the society. A nation's development is not measured in terms of GDP alone. A few industrialists can become super rich and show a significant increase in GDP but are the people happy in the society? is there communal harmony? Can the citizens live without fear and profess their religion/beliefs freely? India was a free society with exemplary communal harmony, which is systematically destroyed by this political party.

Such things happen because a jilted lover, or a brother, or a family member or a friend does not like the relationship and informs these fringe groups. Good that the police have arrested 14.
