Behind bars: Suspected militant arrested in Swat

We received an intelligence tip-off about his whereabouts and raided his house

MINGORA: A suspected militant, who was wanted for killing a police official in 2009, was arrested in Swat on Saturday night. An official of Matta police station told The Express Tribune Mian Syed was taken into custody during a raid on a house in Barma Khel area. “Mian Syed, along with three others suspected militants, had killed Muhammad Iqbal, a police official in Matta,” the official said. “We received an intelligence tip-off about his whereabouts and raided his house. He has been shifted to an unknown location for further interrogation.” The official added the other three men have already been arrested and put on trial.
