Heads of the two factions of Balochistan National Party have accused the provincial government of targeting its political opponents in a meeting.

BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal accused the Balochistan government of using state machinery to victimise foes.

According to a statement issued after the meeting, both the leaders agreed to approach other opposition parties for the formulation of a joint strategy against the provincial government.

“We will also approach the federal government regarding the unjust victimisation of the political opponents in Balochistan which is an undemocratic act and against the political norms,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, talking to the reporters, Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri said: “It is sad to observe that Balochistan government is trying to crush the voices of opposition.”

Zehri said he will use his democratic right to prevent provincial government from its illegal steps.
