QUETTA: Unknown gunmen kidnapped at least four labourers of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) along with their vehicles in the Dasht area of Turbat district on Friday.

The labourers were on their way from Turbat city to the Mirani dam when they were held up at gunpoint and abducted, Balochistan Levies official Mahmood Ahmed said. He identified them as Quetta residents Yahya Khan and Jumma Khan, and Wazir Khan residents Gul Khan and Bakht Khan.

According to sources, the labourers were working on the Gwadar-Kashgar route. “The four men were working with contractor Agha Gul,” the levies official said.

No one claimed responsibility for the kidnapping by the time this report was filed.

Meanwhile, three bullet-riddled bodies were found in Chaman and Quetta on Friday, officials said.

Two of them were spotted by a passerby in the Rehman Kahol area of Chaman, police said. Police rushed to the scene immediately upon receiving the information and cordoned off the area.

Hospital officials confirmed that the two men had been shot in the head and chest. They said that although no one had identified the men so far, both of them seemed to be Afghans.

Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects.

The third bullet-riddled body was discovered in the Killi Dehba area of Quetta. Police officials said they were informed by the resident who spotted the body. The body was moved to the Quetta Civil Hospital where it was identified as belonging to 26-year-old Jumma Khan.
