RAWALPINDI: European Union Special Representative and Head of the European Union Delegation for Afghanistan, Ambassador Franz-Michael Mellibin met Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Friday and exchanged views on the regional security situation. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Franz-Michael Mellibin visited GHQ and met army chief Gen Raheel Sharif. Peace and security situation in the region came under discussion in the meeting. EU special representative lauded the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan army in Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Peace talks between Afghan government and Taliban featured in the talks. Ambassador Franz-Michael also appreciated the role of mediator played by Pakistan.
