KARACHI: The much-awaited road trip of Anoushey Ashraf and Faizan Haque has come to a halt as Faizan’s car met an accident on Thursday morning. Haque was accompanied by Anoushey’s father, Agha Ashraf, who was driving the Vigo. When he tried to overtake a truck, the car crashed into another truck that was ahead of it.

“We don’t know exactly what happened, either my dad fell asleep or something diverted his attention,” Anoushey told The Express Tribune. Anoushey was supposed to be a part of the journey but due to some pending shoots, she decided to join them from Lahore where they were to travel to the Northern areas of Pakistan.

Faizan suffered multiple injuries on his face, head and neck, while Agha received bruises on his arms and shoulders. Till the filing of this report, Faizan’s scans had not revealed any critical injuries and Agha was being checked for possible fractures. Both of them were under treatment at the Nawabshah hospital.

“For now our top priority is to bring Faizan back to Karachi so that a better CT scan and MRI can be performed,” said Anoushey.

Both Anoushey and Faizan were supposed to make an internet show of the trip, one that would showcase the unexplored landscapes and untold stories from Pakistan. They were set to embark on the road trip from Karachi all the way up to the Chinese border, 16,000 feet above sea level, starting on Wednesday evening.

But, for now, both the trip and the show has been halted indefinitely. “What happened in the beginning of this journey is very tragic, looks like the trip was jinxed,” lamented Anoushey.

“Faizan can’t continue the journey at this point and we may resume it sometime later but certainly not now. For now the trip has been halted,” Anoushey clarified.

We wish Faizan and Agha a speedy recovery.
