
A 22-bed emergency and accidental department in Cantonment General Hospital (CGH) has become operational.
The department has been upgraded and equipped with the necessary treatment facilities and equipment at a cost of Rs150 million.
Station Commander Brigadier Zahid Ahmed Rana on Wednesday inaugurated the department. Speaking on the occasion, the station commander said that a main operation theatre, a minor operation theatre, recovery room, and an insulation ward have been established in the department.
He said different public and private organisations’ assistance were acquired in the upgradation of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, medical superintendent of the hospital, Brigadier (retd) Athar Naeem Khakwani said that the department had not been in operation for quite some time. He said that he along with his team took it as a challenge to make it operational.
Khakwani assured that they are now ready to accept the challenge to provide modern healthcare facilities to the patients in the hospital. He said that the emergency department is the most crucial stage a patient’s life hinges on. Hence our primary focus will be to provide the most needed care to the patients admitted to the department.
