Measles drive: 65,000 children to be vaccinated

These teams will remain on duty all day to vaccinate children against the disease

HANGU: At least 65,000 children between the ages of six months and 10 years will be vaccinated against measles in a 12-day campaign in Orakzai Agency. Agency Surgeon for Orakzai Dr Muhammad Idrees told The Express Tribune on Wednesday the campaign was initiated by Political Agent Muhammad Zubair Khan. “The campaign will be carried out on a priority basis,” he said. “Health department officials have been asked to administer the vaccines.” Idrees said the agency has been divided into 16 parts and 61 vaccination teams have been formed. “These teams will remain on duty all day to vaccinate children against the disease,” he added. The drive will continue till August 29.
