It's official: Karan Johar brings together Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt!
The yet untitled film will be directed by Gauri Shinde who impressed audiences worldwide with English Vinglish
Now here's an interesting piece of news: Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt have been confirmed as lead cast of a film to be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment. The yet-to-be titled film will be directed by Gauri Shinde, who impressed audiences worldwide with her previous venture -- Sridevi-starrer English Vinglish.
A jubilant Karan took to Twitter and broke the news. He first tweeted, saying a big announcement was coming up:
His tweet coincided with the appearance of photos which showed Shah Rukh and KJo greeting each other outside Karan's office:
And finally, after a few hours, Karan broke the suspense:
Alia, too, was quick to share the news with her fans:
It is unclear if Shah Rukh and Alia would be seen romancing each other in the film as nothing has been revealed about the plot. We hope not because that would be quite odd, don't you think? The fact that Gauri is directing the film does give us some hope; after all, there was nothing typical about her previous film English Vinglish. And with films like Fan and Raees in the pipeline, we wouldn't expect Shah Rukh to settle for an ordinary rom-com with an actress half his age.
So here's hoping fans of King Khan and Alia Bhatt are in for a real treat.
