LAHORE: Health Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik on Tuesday directed administrations of public hospitals to ensure implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) prescribed for them by the Punjab Healthcare Commission. He said under the SOPs public hospitals were required to submit with the department certificates that hygiene standards were up to the mark at all facilities at their premises. The secretary said that the medical superintendents should themselves visit all facilities like operation theatres and patient wards for the purpose. He said no negligence would be tolerated in this regard. Besides the MS at teaching, district- and tehsil- headquarters hospitals, a copy of the directive was also sent to principals of all medical colleges and Health EDOs.
