RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has launched a fumigation drive as a precautionary measure to stem the spread of dengue in the area. An RCB spokesperson on Sunday said fumigation will be carried out in all RCB areas in phases. He said an aggressive approach is being adopted this year to avert the threat of dengue. All possible precautionary measures would be taken to nip the virus in the bud, said the spokesperson, adding that the fumigation campaign would continue till the threat is over. Tyre shops have been warned and violators fined and tyres confiscated during anti-dengue checking by RCB teams, he informed further. Tyre shops have also been told not to leave the uncovered or unpacked tyres in the open.
