Pakistan condolences over death of Indian President’s wife
First Lady Smt Suvra Mukherjee passed away on Tuesday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan on Tuesday expressed condolences on the demise of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee.
“The Government of Pakistan expresses its deep condolences on the demise of Mrs Suvra Mukherjee, wife of His Excellency Pranab Mukherjee, President of the Republic of India,” a statement said on Tuesday.
The President and Prime Minister of Pakistan sent a condolence letter to the President of India, the statement added.
Suvra Mukherjee passed away on Tuesday morning.
In a statement, the Rashtrapati Bhawan said, "It is informed with deep sorrow that First Lady Smt Suvra Mukherjee passed away this morning (August 18, 2015). She left for her heavenly abode at 1051 am."
She had suffered a cardiac arrest on August 7 and was under treatment in the ICU of Army Hospital.
Born on September 17, 1940 in Jessore (now in Bangladesh), Suvra married Pranab Mukherjee on July 13, 1957.
