Trailer release: Will Jawani Phir Nahi Ani be a hit or a miss?

Zindagi Na Mileygi Dobara? Masti? Hangover? Or Hangover + Masti? There's nothing original about the JPNA trailer

Just when we thought Pakistani cinema was brimming with talent, a recent release proved otherwise  (no points for guessing) -- Nadeem Baig's latest directorial Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (JPNA) seems to be following the same route.

Shot in Bangkok, the JPNA trailer is all over the place introducing a multitude of characters who flash on the screen for a mere millisecond only to deliver a 'funny' one-liner.

Starring Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Sarwat Gillani , Aisha Khan, Uzma, Mehwish Hayat, Sohai Ali Abro, Javed Sheikh, Bushra Ansari, Ismail Tara, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani's trailer is not impressive at all given the stellar cast.

Take a look:

The audience is left to figure out the story and characters on their own.  But it won't take a genius to know how it will unfold: a group of three married friends -- Ahmad, Vasay and Hamza -- who plan a getaway with their bachelor friend, played by Humayun to escape their dominating wives and miserable married lives.

During the course of their getaway the bachelor friend falls for a girl (Mehwish Hayat) and wants to marry her, what follows is a series of mishaps, fail comedy incidents and a predictable narrative.

The item number inclusion comes as no surprise, it seems to be the selling point of most local films now. Sohai Ali Abro swings her hips again for audiences after Wrong No. in JPNA. We'll let you be the judge of her dancing skills.

Will it be fair to say that the trailer is almost reflective of Bollywood film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara? Or Masti? Or Hollywood blockbuster Hangover? Or a mix of Masti and Hangover? Let us know.

The film is set to release in Pakistan on Eid ul Azha.
