KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court sent on Monday three suspected child rapists on an additional seven-day remand.

Suspects Abid Hussain, Sher Muhammad and Imran are accused of kidnapping a seven-year-old girl , sexually abusing her and strangling her to death.

The incident was reported in late July in Karachi’s Sachal Goth. The girl went missing from her house in Abdullah Shah Ghazi, and her body was later found by the family in a ditch surrounded by the bushes.

The police arrested Abid two days after the child’s father lodged an FIR of the incident.

Two other suspects were reportedly arrested after information was provided by Abid.

The suspects have been identified by two witnesses believed to have seen the suspects taking the child away.

They are still under interrogation and have pleaded innocence.

This is said to be the first child rape case brought before the ATC I in Karachi this year.
