KARACHI:
At least six members of a family drowned while picnicking at Manora beach in Karachi on Sunday.
The incident occurred when sea waves overpowered Moazzam, 31, and Alam, 61, prompting four other family members to rescue them, but they also became victims to the high tides.
Rescuers made immense efforts to recover bodies of Moazzam, Badar, Talha and Bilal, and said two more of the family, including Mairaj, were missing.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, ASP Bilal Qayyum confirmed the incident, adding a search operation for the missing ones was underway.
