Altercation: Man smothered to death in Swat

MINGORA: A man killed the father of his alleged paramour in Khwazakhela, Swat on Saturday in what appears to be a case of self-defence. Khwazakhela ASI Taj Muhammad said the incident occurred in Koz Cham area. He said Ameer Zeb was in love with Usman Ghani’s daughter and had come to her house to meet her. However, Ghani woke up and tried to stop him from seeing her. The official said Ghani picked up a knife to attack Zeb. The latter grabbed a pillow and smothered the father. The ASI added Zeb was stabbed twice by Ghani during the brawl and critically injured. He was taken to Saidu Teaching Hospital. Although Zeb was brought to the facility in a critical condition, he is gradually recovering after surgery. A case was registered and further investigation is under way.
