Natural Gas: SSGC focuses on strategic projects

SSGC MD said the company was one of the major players in ensuring the distribution of LNG in the country

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) is currently engaged in implementing natural gas projects of strategic nature in order to reduce the widening demand-supply gap of this important fuel, said SSGC Managing Director Khalid Rehman. Speaking to the company’s executives and staff at the head office, following a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the 69th Independence Day, he said the company was one of the major players in ensuring the distribution of LNG in the country in order to reduce the shortfall. “We are working on providing different sectors with natural gas that face major supply issues due to the widening gap and hope that by the same time next year, this objective will be achieved,” he added. Rehman reiterated that SSGC was currently confronted with a myriad of challenges, including unaccounted for gas that has affected the company’s bottom line.
