Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Secretary General Dr Rizwan Naseer was the chief guest at the event. He is also the founder and director general of Rescue 1122.
Naseer raised the flag atop Rescue 1122 headquarters, and congratulated the force on completing eight years of service. He said a total of 112,211 lives had been rescued by the emergency service in the Rawalpindi District since its inception on August 14, 2007.
District Emergency Officer Dr Abdur Rahman said in eight years, the force had conducted 102,756 rescue operations in the city, responding to 46,416 road traffic accidents; 4,973 fires; 110 building collapses; 70 explosions; 168 drowning incidents; 4,969 animal rescues; and 3,074 criminal incidents.
