This is the age of knowledge revolution and it is imperative to strengthen our knowledge economy if we want to compete in the comity of nations.
This was said by planning and development minister Ahsan Iqbal on Friday at the launch of ILM Pakistan Movement at Higher Education Commission.
The movement is aimed at empowering educational process of the country, enabling it to improve students’ achievement, attitudes towards civic responsibility, and respect for diversity and tolerance. It will also empower teachers to improve performance of students and bring forth parents as active participants and stakeholders.
Congratulating the nation on Independence Day, Iqbal said real independence is when there is freedom of knowledge and intellectual growth in any society. Elaborating the government’s Vision 2025, Iqbal said knowledge is an important component of the plan and that is why they are ensuring complete participation of academics and researchers.
State education minister Balighur Rehman said Pakistan will adopt Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 along with other nations at United Nations in September this year.
