Taking the plunge: Seven killed, two injured in Balakot

They were rushed to Ayub Medical Complex and are in critical condition

BALAKOT: Seven tourists, reportedly from the same family, were killed while two others were injured when a car plunged into a roadside gorge some 28 kilometres from Balakot, Mansehra on Thursday. Police and eyewitnesses said a family from Rangpur Muzaffargarh village was returning from Naran in three vehicles. Attempting to overtake the others, the driver of one of the cars carrying nine passengers plunged into a ravine near Ghanol village. Seven of those on board died on the spot while two others were injured. The injured have been identified as Muhammad Asif and Mazhar Hussain. They were rushed to Ayub Medical Complex and are in critical condition.
