Economic relations: MoU to promote Pak-China trade

The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and the China Overseas Investment Federation on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to utilise their resources to enhance trade between the two countries.


The MoU stated that the two organisations would evolve a plan for generating investment opportunities in infrastructure, agriculture, livestock, renewable energy, mining, information technology and textile sectors of the two countries.

They agreed to arrange trade fairs and exchange visits in this regard.

PBIT chairman Abdul Basit said that under the MoU emerging Chinese enterprises would be invited to invest in the province. He said the PBIT would facilitate such enterprises.

The COIF delegation was headed by its executive president, Marshall Zhenb.

Representatives of several Chinese companies in the infrastructure and energy development, security services, industrial investment and asset management sectors were part of the delegation.
