LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday sealed five food outlets over poor hygiene.

PFA Operations Director Ayesha Mumtaz sealed a meat store located on the Main Boulevard, Gulberg. “A foul odour was coming from the storage freezers. Flies were found in the display cabinets.

The food inspectors also found stale meat in the freezers.

There was an open drain in the meat processing room,” the authority said.

The authority’s Shalimar Town team sealed two cooking centres located on the Sher Shah Road over poor hygiene.

The Data Ganj Baksh team sealed a sweets production unit located in Santnagar Chowk after finding dead flies in sweets. They also sealed a restaurant located in the Islampura bazaar after finding leftover food stored in freezers.
