LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought comments from Mughalpura SHO by August 13 on a petition seeking the registration of a treason case against top Pakistan Peoples Party leaders for allegedly delivering a hate speech against the army. Petitioner Muhammad Ilyas Gujjar stated that delivering a speech against the army was tantamount to committing treason. He requested the court to take action against former president Asif Ali Zardari, Co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto, former prime ministers Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf for their comments against the army. He said that they had helped those who wanted to harm the country. “The speech was delivered to sabotage Operation Zarb-i-Azb,” he said. He requested the court to direct police to register FIRs against them.
