Accomplices in crime: Court grants bail to four policemen

They were booked in a case related to escape of three robbery suspects, on Monday

KARACHI: District and sessions court granted bail to four policemen, booked in a case related to escape of three robbery suspects, on Monday. The officers, SI Javed Ahmed, constables Shakoor, Sajid Hasnain and Shakir Ali, were arrested on Sunday for their alleged negligence following the escape of three suspects, Muhammad Shan, Ali Akbar and Shan alias Shani, from the city courts. District South judicial magistrate Syed Nadeem Zafar Hashmi granted the bail to the policemen against a surety bond of Rs10,000 each. According to the prosecution, the escaped suspects were arrested by the Nazimabad police for alleged involvement in robbery and possession of illicit weapons cases.
