PM Nawaz arrives in Belarus on three day official visit

PM Nawaz will participate in Pakistan-Belarus Business and Investment Forum

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived on Monday in Belarus on a three-day official visit.

The premier will hold a one-on-one meeting with the Belarusian president which will be followed by delegation-level talks, according to Radio Pakistan.

During his visit Nawaz will hold meetings with Chairman of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Council of the Republic while the prime minister will be conferred upon an honorary Doctorate Degree by the Belarusian State University.

Further, PM Nawaz and the president of Belarus will inaugurate joint Pak-Belarus Business Forum.


The prime minister will also participate in the Pakistan-Belarus Business and Investment Forum and is scheduled to visit several Belarusian industrial units.

Meanwhile, a number of important agreements and Memorandum of Understanding’s are also expected to be signed during the visit.

The visit to Minsk comes following an invitation from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and marks the first ever visit to the country by a Pakistani prime minister.

Earlier, upon his arrival, the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was received by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, the vice prime minister, and the foreign minister of Belarus.

The prime minister on his arrival at Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, was given a red carpet welcome and a guard of honour.
