LAHORE:

Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman said on Sunday the government had effectively mobilised its political and diplomatic resources to raise the Kashmir issue at international forums.

He was speaking at a seminar on Kashmir.

“The government is doing its best to resolve the dispute. Using various diplomatic channels, it has been advocating the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.” The chief minister said the Kashmir issue was associated with Gilgit-Baltistan. The people of Gilgit-Baltistan have rendered numerous sacrifices for Kashmiris, he said.

Rehman said the Indian government had tried to hinder the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project. New Delhi had also tried to create unrest in Gilgit-Baltistan during the recent elections there but the conspiracy was foiled.
