Pakistani truck artist paints land cruiser in Washington

Haider Ali not only travels the world promoting his art, he also uses to it convey a message of friendship

KARACHI: Accomplished Pakistani truck artist Haider Ali is on the move again, this time painting a Toyota FJ Cruiser in the United States.

The US consulate in Karachi shared images on their Facebook page of a Toyota land cruiser before and after it was adorned by the famous Pakistani Truck artist in Washington DC.

Vibrant Pakistani truck art has received increasing admiration globally in recent years and is a cherished part of the Pakistani cultural tradition.

Ali’s family has been in this business for the last 60 years, he claims, “We [Pakistanis] have perfected this skill and it is the only art form in the Subcontinent which is so unique to us.”

Ali has not only travelled around the world promoting his art, he has also used to it convey a message of friendship and peace when he painted a truck as an Eid gift to India.

Ali, who owns a workshop in Garden East and Maripur, has so far travelled to the US, England, Turkey and India.
