Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said the incumbent government is taking concrete steps to revive agriculture and livestock sectors of the province, the backbone of its economy.

“The development budget of agriculture sector was zero when we came into government but we increased it to eight per cent. Bringing reforms and carrying out research in agriculture sector is very important for its development,” he added.

The CM expressed these views addressing the concluding session of a conference titled “Farmers First” organized by Balochistan Government at a local hotel here on Friday.

At the conference, federal minister for agriculture announced a huge project of planting 20,000 olive plants in Balochistan and said the olive plants would be given to farmers free of cost.
