Public appeal: Man using NAB’s name arrested

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has appealed  citizens to inform them about any blackmail attempts following complaints received about fraudsters who blackmailed various government servants and departments using NAB’s name. One such man was arrested by the bureau on a tip-off during a raid in Karachi. The accused, Tariq Saleem Akbar, was blackmailing various government servants and departments for money, posing as a deputy director of NAB. A fake NAB identity card has also been seized from him, said the NAB Karachi spokesperson. NAB has also appealed to the general public to be cautious of such fraudulent persons and that any suspicious individual or groups using NAB’s name be reported to NAB at UAN-021-111-622-622, 99207778 and 99207787.
