PM, president discuss national issues

Operation Zarb-e-Azb, prevalent security conditions and flood situation were discussed during the meeting

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif discussed on Friday issues pertaining to national interest.

“Issues pertaining to national matters came under discussion during the meeting with the prime minister and the president,” Radio Pakistan reported.

During the meeting, PM Nawaz took the president in confidence over the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb, security conditions in Sindh and Balochistan and the flood situation across the country.

Further, both the prime minister and the president agreed to continue relief activities in flood-hit areas.

The prime minister discussed the overall security situation in the country and also informed the president about government’s efforts to curb terrorism.

The president lauded the efforts of the government in tackling the menace of terrorism and bringing peace to the homeland.
