Who doesn't like dressing up? But it's a shame when you're all dolled up, clad in beautiful clothes and your hair fails to impress.

Surely, most, if not all, don't have the time and sometimes money to rush to salons to get the perfect hairdo. But that doesn't mean you can't try at home.

Here are a few quick tutorials from Instagram to help you style your mane effortlessly:

1. Braid with a twist

This one is perfect for a friend's bridal shower, college farewell party or prom night. All you need to do is part your hair, take a chunk from the top and back comb. You'll need a band or a DIY flower tiara. Once you are done backcombing your hair, take sections of your hair and turn over the band/tiara and tie the remaining hair in a braid. And ta-da! You're ready to rock like a princess.

2. Snow White twist

Another super easy do for a friend's wedding or fun night out. Backcomb sections of hair around the head then twist and secure with lots of bobby pins. Use hair spray to keep in place and either top with a tiara or adorn with hand-picked flowers. You'll look like royalty.

3. Twisted side bun

Curl and tease your hair then spray to sustain. Brush and tame the frizz and gather hair to one side. Loop the back hair in one complete pony in next loop bring hair halfway though to create a loose bun, spread to give volume. Part hair sideways, or in the center, however you like it, then grab small sections from the front but start from the bottom, twist, gather to the back and secure with pins. In Karachi's humidity, this hairdo will work best!

4. Fishtail ponytail

This casual hair style can be worn to work or a lunch with friends. It's clean, and keeps hair in place while looking stylish. Secure all hair in a high ponytail. Starting from the top, make a fish braid, once done tie with a pony and gently pull the top twists to make hair look voluminous. For those with short layers, this might not be the ideal hairdo.

5. French-braid-turned-snake-braid

For times when you need to a hair fix and you haven't got time to spare. Part your hair the way you like it, take hair from one side of the parting and make a regular braid, when you reach the end of your braid, with three strands of hair combine two together and slowly drag upwards keeping the third strand in place. Lastly, spread out the braids and pin them at the back, like a crown.

6. Mohawk braid

If you're one who wants a bold, hip look while keeping a do feminine then this one is for you. Divide hair from crown of your head, tie the top section up and make a ponytail for the lower. Let loose the top section and tease generously for volume, once done, move it back with your hands. Start braiding from the top, don't make it too tight, otherwise it'll defeat the purpose of all that backcombing. Keep braiding till you reach the ends, then tie it with the lower ponytail. Spray and you're done.

7. Pump-it-up

It's all about the 60s and big hair with this style. This is your regular hairband chic style except with an added oomph. Tease all your hair in sections and flip to the back. Be gentle and tease only at the roots. Lightly brush the top to tame the mane and set at the back, be careful not the comb the tease out! Take a headband and push it the top of your head. Fix any loose hairs.

8. Sophisticated updo twist

Looks complicated but it's really very easy to do. You can rock it at a friend's lunch or look elegant at an office party. All you need to do is twist and pin. Take the front section of your hair, part in two, cross and then twist, tie with a pony. Take a section from one side, twist and rope around the braid, secure them together. Take a section from the other side, twist and rope around the first. Repeat as you move down, alternating both sides. Once you reach the end twist tightly and tuck it in. Secure with bobby pins. Be sure to finish up with hair spray.

From super easy dos to complicated ones, these will add a funky and new style to your look. Whichever you choose to do, experiment away, who knows, you might end up creating your own signature hairstyle. Enjoy!
