KARACHI:

The Supreme Court has rejected the police funds report for the third time and ordered the provincial chief secretary to submit the exact details of the funds allocated to the police department within four weeks.

The apex court’s three-member bench, headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim, also directed the chief secretary to take appropriate action against the police and finance officials for submitting reports that contained contradictory statistics.

The bench was hearing a case regarding withholding of funds meant for investigations by  IG Ghulam Haider Jamali and its disbursement among other officials.
