HSSC results: Boys clinch top position in Abbottabad

ABBOTABAD: Boys clinched the top position in the annual result of Higher Secondary School Certificate exam of 2015 in Abbottabad meanwhile the second and third positions were bagged by girls. The results came out on Wednesday evening.

A total of 34,775 students sat for the HSSC examinations and as many as 20,000 passed. Out of the candidates who passed, 292 got the A+ grade, 1,630 got an A, 3,992 B, 7,564 C and 6,270 secured the D grade.

As per the overall results, Aqib Habib of Jinnah Basic School and College Mansehra and Kamran Tariq of Peace Group of Colleges Abbottabad got 978 marks out of 1,100 and were jointly declared toppers. Both belonged to the pre-engineering group. Najma Zeb of Dubai International Public School and College Mansehra got the second position with 966 marks, followed by Zainab Ejaz of Bright Vision Model College Haripur who secured 963 marks. Both the girls were from the pre-medical group.

Group-wise breakdown

Among girls of the pre-engineering group, Maryam Mubashir of International Public School Havelian stood first with 962 marks, Aiman Khalid of Bright Vision Model College Haripur came second with 946 marks and Aroosa Riaz of Pakistan International School and College Abbottabad came third with 936 marks.

Meanwhile, both Habib and Tariq stood first in the boys category of the same group. They were followed by Ahsan Safeer of Peace Group of Colleges who secured the second position with 961 marks and Syed Irtaza Haider Naqvi of Sir Syed Model School Haripur got the third position with 949 marks.

In the pre-medical group, Najma Zeb got the first position followed by Zainab Ejaz who came second. The third position was clinched by Midhat Rashid of Jinnah Jame College Haripur with 962 marks.

Out of the boys in the same group, Abdul Subhan of Jinnah Basic College Mansehra got the first position by obtaining 957 marks, Saad came second with 950 marks and Muhammad Huzaifa Aurangzeb Mughal of Abbottabad Public School and College got the third position with 945 marks.

In the computer science group, Aroosa Khalid of Fatima Tuz Zahra College Mansehra got the first position with 936 marks, Nida Waheed of Bright Vision Model College Haripur obtained the second position with 886 marks and Aqsa Nadeem of Pakistan International Public School Abbottabad came third with 881 marks.

Meanwhile in the arts group, 15,049 students sat for the papers, out of which only 3,786 passed. A very few number of students sat from the media technology group; 169 appeared for the exams and 61 passed.
