SHO says case has been registered against three unidentified armed motorcyclists on behalf of victim’s son
KARACHI:
Police registered on Wednesday a case against three unidentified men for the murder of a woman in Karachi’s Defence area.
The victim, identified as 49-year-old Mahreen, wife of Ali Hassan, was shot dead late night on Tuesday on 26th Street in the Defence Housing Authority within the limits of the Darakhshan police station.
“We have registered a case against three unidentified armed motorcyclists on behalf of the victim’s son, Haider,” Darakhshan Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Hussain Pirzada told The Express Tribune.

The complainant, in his statement, told the police that his father used to work at a private bank and the incident occurred at a time when his parents were returning to their home located in Phase VI, DHA, the SHO added.
“My parents were returning home after visiting a restaurant at Do-Darya,” the SHO quoted the victim’s son as saying.
“My father mistakenly took a wrong turn on 26th Street and when he realised and started to reverse the car, three armed men on a motorcycle intercepted their car at gunpoint,” the officer further quoted the complainant as saying.

“One of them opened fire at the victim when she resisted; however, the accused managed to escape soon after shooting her twice in her head.”
Further investigations into the case are under way.
