Court proceedings: Child rapists remanded to police custody

The judge, Bashir Ahmed Khoso, sent the suspects to police custody on a 14-day physical remand

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday remanded two suspects who allegedly kidnapped a seven-year-old girl, raped and later strangled her to death. The suspects, Imran Ali and Sher Muhammad, were arrested two days after their accomplice, Abid, was taken into custody by the police. According to the documents submitted to the court, the trio abducted the girl from Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth, took her to a deserted plot, demanded ransom from her father, raped and later murdered her. The judge, Bashir Ahmed Khoso, sent the suspects to police custody on a 14-day physical remand. The case was registered at the Sachal police station on July 31 and the police succeeded in apprehending the first suspect on August 2.
